Remove obstacles to success and improve system processes with tailored initiatives for businesses across New Zealand

Do you have areas of concern in your business systems but are unsure how to remedy the situation with a clear future plan? Arben Consulting's experienced business consultants have developed an efficient systems improvement service designed to act as a health check-up for your business. Using proven processes, our team will work alongside you to quickly identify, assess, and remove the constraints on your business with fit-for-purpose solutions.
A systems review takes place over a few business days. This service is cost-effective and delivers significant value without the high price point. We will analyse your business model, chat with your people, review your systems, and provide objective insight into what is holding you back. This gives you the systems visibility you need to make informed investments and corrective actions. If you require additional support to make the necessary changes, we can create an actionable and targeted roadmap to solve the issues.
Your roadmap will include several proposed high-impact initiatives. You are welcome to implement the suggestions yourself. However, our team can assist you or connect you with a specialist project manager if you prefer.

Stop struggling with issues that are easily resolvable with the right strategy. Contact Arben Consulting to arrange a consultation.

Systems Improvement
Our systems review is ideal for businesses where you already have a reasonably good idea of where/what the business issue is and need specific help to identify systems improvements.
Our team can also map out how to address the specific concern/s by providing an actionable roadmap. If you also need help implementing the changes, we can help there too.

These services are broader and more far-reaching, often geared towards larger companies. Clients usually know something is not quite right within certain aspects of their business but need clarity to identify, assess, and rectify the course with a proactive solution. A roadmap will evaluate the entire business model, interview key employees, and provide a tangible "roadmap" to rectify the situation/s.
We also offer other expert business consulting services to businesses throughout NZ, including fractional CIO services and digital transformation strategies for technological advancement.

Start. Stop. Continue -

bite-size roadmaps to simplify your business systems

Start. Stop. Continue is a tactical approach to consolidate and unify your business systems, so you can access relevant information whenever required.

Start

Invest in systems that quickly and directly contribute to your business.

Stop

Abandon the systems that don’t add value and are holding you back.

Continue

Optimise the systems you already have to extract the most value.
The Start. Stop. Continue package is not a group workshop. Instead, it includes approximately 4-8 hours of interviewing individual key stakeholders, staff, and your leadership team to determine what makes your business tick. We inquire about the information you have available and advise on information that is lacking. Essentially, we aim to find out why you are in business, what it is you are delivering and how to enhance your growth strategies.
We then develop an actionable roadmap for the next 3 to 6 months. This will highlight the immediate steps needed to improve your business while you plan for the longer term. If necessary, we can assist with implementing your roadmap strategy and appointing the essential project managers and technology partners to achieve your specific goals.

Frequently asked questions for Systems Improvement

  • Early signs of pain points usually show up in staff dissatisfaction and complaints, usually due to bad processes manifested through IT systems. If you are getting the water cooler vibe that staff are frustrated, then investigate it. In Arben’s experience bad processes that don’t get fixed end up with work arounds and over time become “the way we have always done it”. You and your staff become blinkered to the underlying problems and resigned to just keep doing what you have always done.

  • What makes things worse is when your systems are built to cope with the unfixed problems and the multitude of work arounds, what you will actually hear from staff is complaints about the Finance systems, or HR system, etc. What this is, is bad process codified into IT tools with the mistaken thinking that IT will fix it. If you don’t address the underlying business problem, then all IT does is makes the sh#t go faster and usually costs a lot to do it.

  • The most basic explanation is the Business Model is what you go out to market with, the customer facing stuff, whereas an operating model is how you deliver your products and services to the market.

  • What gets lost here is the Why - why are you in business, what do you want to achieve? Too often business get wrapped up in the How and What and lose sight of the Why. Simon Sinek explains this very well and simply, look him up.

  • Understanding your business and communication are the two most common things Arben sees missing with suppliers. Usually, it’s not obvious that a supplier relationship is not working as well as it could and in a lot of cases it's easily fixable. Get your suppliers in for regular meetings about why your business exists so they understand you - from here you can have meaningful conversations about how your suppliers can help you be successful.

  • This is a great litmus test of your supplier relationship and performance. If they just don’t get you or show no interest, rather just “selling” you stuff, then find a better supplier.
